SMS group GmbH in Hilchenbach is seeking a Design Engineer (f/m/d) to take responsibility for the independent design and engineering of machines and products for detailed engineering.

You will contribute to new development and refinement, focusing on robust mechanical design for heavy machinery and ensuring quality interfaces with internal teams, customers, workshops, and suppliers. A willingness to travel abroad and cooperate on international projects is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3D CAD knowledge, CREO preferred.
• Willingness to work abroad and travel.
• Good English skills.
• Strong teamwork and flexibility.

Aufgaben

• Design and engineer machines and products for detailed engineering.
• Support development and ongoing improvement of products.
• Oversee detailed engineering and construction sites.
• Coordinate with workshops, suppliers, and customers.
• Collaborate on cross-national projects in Germany and abroad.
• Clarify interfaces with internal and external teams.

Become a part of our future at SMS group GmbH in Hilchenbach, where we're looking to recruit a person on a full-time or part-time basis as Design Engineer (f/m/d).

YOU ACT

You will be responsible for the independent design and engineering of machines and products as a basis for detailed engineering, in addition:

• Contributing to the new development and further development of our products
• Engineering technical design of our machines and plant components
• Supporting and overseeing detailed engineering
• Supporting construction sites, workshops, and suppliers
• Assisting in meetings and negotiations with our customers in Germany and abroad
• Clarifying internal and external interdisciplinary interfaces

YOU KNOW

You have completed an engineering degree in mechanical engineering; the following are important to us:

• 3D CAD knowledge (preferably CREO)
• Enjoyment in designing products for heavy machinery
• Understanding of mechatronic systems
• Willingness to take on assignments abroad
• Good English skills
• Team spirit, flexibility, and enthusiasm
