Berlin Primarily on-site 3–6 months Mandatory study internship

About the Role

#DAMUR is a Berlin-based high-end fashion label connecting gender-neutral fashion with music, nightlife, performance and contemporary culture.

You will support interdisciplinary cultural projects across contemporary art, fashion, electronic music, performance and queer culture. You will contribute to #DAMUR projects and the development of 25hrs LOVE, moving from research and artist communication to planning, installation, opening and exhibition take-down.

A Professional Working Internship

This is a professional working internship—not a classroom, observation placement or beginner curatorial course.

We provide clear briefs, professional context, feedback and access to real cultural projects. In return, you must already be able to research independently, organise information, communicate professionally and support practical production work. We do not teach the fundamentals of research, project organisation or professional communication from the beginning.

You do not need to arrive with an established cultural network, but you must be resourceful, reliable and ready to follow a project from an initial idea to practical execution. We are looking for students who want to contribute to real cultural projects—not wait for every step to be taught or repeatedly explained.

What You’ll Do
  • Research emerging artists, designers, performers, filmmakers and cultural initiatives
  • Shortlist artists and projects that fit a clear curatorial concept
  • Prepare concise visual research and support artist or gallery outreach
  • Maintain timelines, artwork lists, technical information and installation plans
  • Coordinate practical details with artists, technicians, suppliers and transport partners
  • Track replies, deadlines, confirmations and outstanding information
  • Support packing, installation, lighting, labelling, openings and exhibition take-down
  • Take responsibility for defined research, coordination and production tasks
  • Keep project files, contact information and production documents organised
  • You study cultural management, curatorial studies, art, architecture, spatial design, event production or a related subject
  • You are curious about emerging culture and research beyond obvious names
  • You can explain why an artist, project or format fits a specific curatorial direction
  • You combine creative judgment with strong organisation and follow-through
  • You communicate professionally in English
  • You can move a defined task forward without step-by-step supervision
  • You ask focused questions, act on feedback and communicate early when blocked
  • You enjoy practical, on-site work and are prepared to support physical installation and take-down
  • You care about both the cultural idea and the quality of its execution
  • German, Adobe, Canva or project-management experience is a plus
What You’ll Gain
  • Real responsibility within cultural programming and exhibition production
  • Experience taking a cultural project from initial research to opening
  • Direct contact with artists, venues, technicians and cultural partners
  • Practical experience with artwork lists, timelines, installation planning and on-site production
  • Direct professional feedback on the quality, relevance and execution of your work
  • Portfolio-relevant responsibility, subject to confidentiality
Practical Information
  • Location: Berlin, primarily on-site
  • Start: As soon as possible; the exact date is agreed with the selected candidate
  • Duration: 3–6 months
  • Eligibility: This must be a mandatory internship required by your university or a recognised study programme. Erasmus+ placements are welcome when they meet this condition
  • You must already have the right to complete an internship in Germany; we cannot provide employer visa sponsorship
  • Studio benefits: Daily warm homemade lunch, La Marzocco espresso, snacks and drinks
  • Schedule: Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed for events; this will always be agreed in advance
