About Amara

Amara is a Berlin startup building for the second half of life. Our product helps older adults stay connected with their families, and our media studio tells that generation's story to the culture: short interviews with people over 65, grandchild and grandparent formats, and practical content for adult children looking after their parents. We are building a small in-house crew that shoots, cuts, and appears in its own content. This is one of the first two seats.

The role

You are the studio's camera, cutting room, and second on-camera face. You film and turn every shoot into multiple platform-ready assets, and appear in the crew's own formats if needed. The leverage of the whole model lives in your edit: one shoot becomes five assets, one long-form episode becomes a week of short-form.

What you'll own

• Filming batch shoot days: founder slots, crew formats, street interviews, behind-the-scenes. Fast, light setups.
• The repurposing engine: cutting every shoot into Reels, Shorts, TikToks, and clip material against an agreed cut-down plan.
• Edit craft for silent autoplay: a hook in the first second, tight pacing, on-screen text, captions on every single video. Accessibility is the brand's whole thesis.
• On-camera work in the crew formats, as a recurring face the audience gets to know.
• Asset management: raw footage organised so any moment can be re-cut months later.
• Turnaround: rolling edits during the week so publishing never waits on post.

What you bring

• You shoot and cut end to end, fast. CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci: the tool doesn't matter, speed and taste do.
• A reel or your own account that proves retention. Your cuts hold viewers, they don't just look good.
• You can film non-professional talent, including people in their 70s and 80s, and keep the room relaxed.
• German at working proficiency minimum (you'll be cutting German content and need to feel its pacing). Fluent English.
• Platform-native: you know what's trending on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts this week, not last quarter.
