Job summary

Alpine Eagle is building the future of counter-drone defence from Karlsruhe, Germany. We seek a Radar Software Engineer to advance radar perception, design high-performance processing, and collaborate with hardware teams to deliver next-generation drone solutions.

You will work on real-time radar signal processing, object tracking, and integration with embedded drone platforms, using C++, Python, ROS2, and CUDA in a fast-growing international environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Radar Signal Processing and radar object tracking.
• Strong background in embedded software development (ARM/Neon, CUDA).
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with ROS2.
• Hands-on, with strong ownership and systematic problem solving.
• Background in radar detection KPIs and KPI-driven development.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize and benchmark radar processing algorithms for drone-based applications.
• Implement algorithms for the target platform and optimize for runtime and memory.
• Collaborate with hardware team to integrate computer vision with drone systems.
• Stay updated on radar tech and signal processing advances.
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain thorough documentation.

How you will make an impact:

As aRadar SoftwareEngineer, you will becrucialin advancing our drone technology. You will develop,optimizeand benchmarkalgorithmsto further improve our radarperceptionwith a multidisciplinary team to deliver next-generation drone solutions.

• Design,OptimizeandBenchmarkAlgorithms:Radar processingalgorithms for drone-based applications such asraw signal processingand real-timeobjecttracking.
• Implement andOptimize Target Platform: Implement selected algorithms for the target platform and optimize them for runtime and memory footprint.
• Integration with Hardware: Partner with the hardware team to ensure seamless integration of computer vision models with drone systems.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in radar technology and signal processing for aerial and ground-based applications.
• Code Reviews and Documentation:Participatein code reviews,maintainthorough documentation, and contribute to team discussions.

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, ora relatedfield.PhDisa plus.
• Strong background in Radar Signal Processing (signal processing of radar raw data, radar object tracking) with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience in embedded SW development (ARM / Neon, Cuda)
• Strongproficiencyin C++.
• Solid Python skills.
• Proven experience with ROS2.
• A hands-on attitude andstrongsense of ownership.
• You approach complex problems systematically and document your results.
• Background in radar detection KPIs and KPI driven development.

Whatsetsyou apart from others:
