Alpine Eagle GmbH is building the future of counter-drone defence. We seek a senior software leader to own the Mission Management System UI, drive architecture, and mentor a cross-functional team across product, systems, UX, and hardware.

You will transform operational needs into intuitive interfaces, ensuring scalability and reliability in real-time mission operations, with a focus on usability and safety in challenging environments.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Technical leadership and modern UI + backend development.
• Experience in UAS mission planning, drone operations, robotics, autonomous systems, or C2/C4ISR.
• Distributed systems, real-time data processing, and high-availability architectures.
• Familiarity with defence-related standards and tools (Sapient, STANAG 4586, ATAK, SitaWare).
• Ability to translate mission and user requirements into intuitive UI/UX.

How you will make an impact:

The C-UAS MissionManagement System Team is designing theuserinterface for our airborne and ground-basedproductswhich include both sensor networks and effectors. The user interface offers a unique capability to control a multiagent basedfleet of assets. It allows formission planning and simulation,mission operation and control,situationalawarenessanddamage assessment. You will run a team of software developers tofurther improve and develop the existing product, itsfeaturesand interfaces. You will be hands-on,develop andoptimize,drive thearchitecture, and collaborate withother teamsto deliver next-generation drone solutions.

In particular, youwill:

• Lead and mentor a cross‑functional engineering team, fostering strong performance, growth, and a high‑quality engineering culture.
• Own the full lifecycle of the Mission Management System UI, from requirements and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Define and evolve the system architecture to ensure scalability, modularity, resilience, and seamless integration with sensors, effectors, C2 systems, and third‑party assets.
• Collaborate with product, systems engineering, UX, and hardware teams to translate operational needs into intuitive and reliable user interfaces.
• Ensure engineering excellence through clean coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD, and efficient development workflows.
• Shape the product roadmap by identifying new features, improvements, and technology opportunities that enhance mission effectiveness and operator experience.
• Conduct technical reviews, develop proof‑of‑concepts, and guide decisions on frameworks, libraries, and tools.
• Support integration and field testing, validating performance in realistic operational environments and participating in flight operations.
• Champion usability, safety, and reliability in mission‑critical scenarios.Drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and collaboration.

What you need to be successful:

• Strong background in software engineering (5+ years), including technical leadership and modern UI + backend development.
• Experience in UAS mission planning , drone operations , or related domains such as robotics , autonomous systems , or C2/C4ISR.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems , real‑time data processing , and high‑availability architectures.
• Familiarity with defence‑related standards and tools (e.g., Sapient , STANAG 4586 , ATAK , SitaWare ).
• Ability to translate mission and user requirements into intuitive UI/UX and guide teams through complex technical decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent English ; defence‑system integration experience is a strong plus
