Chief Technology Officer / Co-founder

This is not a salaried position. We are looking for a Partner.

WiNGBELS is an IT & Digital Innovation House evolving from its roots as a Marketing & Advertising agency in Prague into a forward-looking technology startup based in Germany. We combine technology, design, and sustainability to build SaaS products with real-world impact.

We are currently developing multiple platforms, including an HR & Enterprise SaaS solution, supported by Microsoft Azure Sponsorship and partnerships with AI xpress Innovation Center and Softwarezentrum e.V.

An MVP is already in progress, with solid front-end and back-end codebase, and we are preparing for accelerators and funding rounds. So you will play a very important role of ensuring a high quality code to move the product from DEV/Test phase to PROD.

The Role:

We are looking for a CTO / Co-Founder who wants to co-build, not just advise. You will own the technical vision, architecture, and execution, and grow with the company from MVP to scale.

This role is ideal for someone who:

What you’ll do:

  • Define and own the technical vision and architecture
  • Lead the transition from DEV/TEST → production
  • Make key decisions around scalability, security, and cloud cost efficiency
  • Act as hands‑on architect & lead engineer while mentoring a small team
  • Shape the product roadmap with the founder
  • Establish DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment standards
  • Ensure security, GDPR compliance, and best practices
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges and issues as they arise during development and deployment.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, architecture, and deployment processes.
  • Support fundraising and partnerships by translating tech into business value
What we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in software engineering and system architecture
  • Ability to translate ideas into working full‑stack solutions
  • Strong expertise with modern stacks, for example: Databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Java / Spring Boot, React (TypeScript), Python/FastAPI, REST/GraphQL, Azure services, OpenAI, Keycloak
  • Practical DevOps expertise (Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes or GitHub Actions)
  • Strong security awareness (OWASP, GDPR, SOC2, modern authentication systems)
  • Startup mindset: ownership, pragmatism, resilience
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence

You do not need to know every tool listed. What matters most is architectural thinking, execution ability, and engineering judgment, not over‑reliance on AI tools.

Education & Experience:

  • MSc/PhD degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, or equivalent with hands‑on experience in building and scaling software systems.
  • Graduated students are welcome to apply.

Languages:

  • English (strong)
  • German is a plus, not a blocker

Strong pluses

  • Experience with RFID, NFC, QR codes, or IoT technologies
  • Prior founder or early‑stage startup experience
  • French language skills
