Job summary

ams OSRAM is seeking a procurement professional to support central functions across IT, HR, logistics, and finance, translating business needs into sourcing solutions and driving cost reductions. You will manage supplier onboarding, RFQs and SAP purchase orders while coordinating with R&D, quality, and other stakeholders.

You will monitor supplier performance, handle escalations, and travel about 20% to coordinate cross-functional supplier initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, materials science, electronics, supply chain management or comparable
• First experience in procurement or category in industry environment is an advantage
• Basic knowledge in SAP and supplier management helpful
• Analytical and structured working style with strong attention to transactional accuracy and follow-through
• Confident communication, stakeholder management and persuasion across functions and cultures
• Willingness to work in a highly dynamic and challenging environment
• Willingness to travel (~ 20%)
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical-commercial material expert for R&D, Quality and other stakeholders, translating business and technical requirements into sourcing solutions
• Identify and drive cost-reduction and productivity opportunities through material changes, standardization, second-source strategies and supplier innovation
• Manage supplier onboarding and qualification, including RFQs, commercial evaluations, negotiations and qualification coordination
• Convert purchasing requirements into SAP purchase orders, call-offs and scheduling activities while maintaining relevant master data
• Monitor order confirmations, pricing, quantities and delivery dates, and resolve deviations with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Act as the first procurement escalation point for supplier-related issues requiring timely support and resolution
• Coordinate supplier evaluations, monitor performance and support improvement initiatives across quality, delivery, cost, technology and responsiveness
