Job summary

Heinemann Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in Hamburg is seeking a Buyer (m/f/d) for Confectionery & Food to build long-term supplier partnerships and negotiate favorable terms for international brands.

You will manage a portfolio of confectionery brands, analyze data in SAP, and work with cross-functional teams to optimize costs, quality and distribution.

Qualifications

• A successfully completed degree in economics or a completed apprenticeship and initial professional experience in (operational) purchasing or category management, ideally in international retailing.
• Affinity for consumer goods – especially confectionery – and solid market/brand knowledge.
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel; SAP experience is a plus and strong analytical skills.
• Business fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
• Negotiation experience with strong communication skills and team spirit.
• Structured work approach, able to stay composed under high workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of international confectionery brands and negotiate with international and national suppliers.
• Improve terms, pricing and distribution rights for holding companies and brands under your responsibility.
• Conduct sales analyses, evaluate data and manage portfolio terms in SAP.
• Optimize supplier structures with respect to costs, quality and performance.
• Collaborate closely with Category Management, Commercial Investment, Sales, Subsidiaries, Commercial Effectiveness and Fulfilment teams.

Your new job includes

As a Buyer (m/f/d) for Confectionery & Food, you will be responsible for developing long-term, partnership-based relationships with the suppliers and brands you manage, as well as establishing relationships with new suppliers. You will play a key role in creating compelling product ranges and securing the best possible terms to surprise and delight our customers.

In this role, you will in particular

• be responsible for a portfolio of international confectionery brands and conduct negotiations with our international and national suppliers
• improve the terms, pricing and distribution rights for the respective holding companies and brands under your responsibility
• carry out sales analyses, evaluate statistical data and manage the terms and conditions of the portfolio in SAP
• optimise supplier structures in terms of costs, quality and performance
• work closely with our Category Management, Commercial Investment, Sales, Subsidiaries, Commercial Effectiveness and Fulfilment teams

What you should bring along

• a successfully completed degree in economics or a completed apprenticeship as well as initial professional experience in (operational) purchasing or category management, ideally in international retailing
• special affinity for consumer goods - especially confectionery - as well as market and brand knowledge
• a confident handling of the MS Office package, especially Excel and ideally SAP and very good analytical skills
• business fluent knowledge of the German and English language, both written and spoken
