Job summary

U.S. Army Europe and Africa in Grafenwoehr, Bavaria, Germany, is seeking a frontline Food Service Worker for a nonappropriated fund position. You will set up cafeteria lines, prepare beverages and salads, serve food, and maintain cleanliness across kitchen and public areas.

No specific experience or education is required; applicants must be able to perform duties after brief instructions and work weekends/holidays, with English and German language proficiency at A1 level.

Qualifications

• Language proficiency English A1 and German A1 required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Shift work including weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up cafeteria lines, steamtables, and service stands with hot/cold items and beverages; brews coffee; prepares cold sandwiches and portioned salads.
• Serves food to order in proper portions; clears, sanitizes, and breaks down dining tables and service areas after meals; returns dishes to kitchen.
• Scrapes, scours, and scrubs heavy cookware and pots; operates dishwashers; safely sorts and stores clean dishes, glassware, and silverware.
• Cleans and sanitizes food prep surfaces, refrigerators, sinks, exhaust vents, hoods, and kitchen floors; unloads supplies and manages kitchen trash disposal.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains guest-facing areas including the hotel lobby, breakfast room, restrooms, and related guest facilities.
• Sanitizes public trash receptacles, removes waste, and maintains public area floors, walls, and common touchpoints.
