Job summary

DocuWare GmbH is seeking a Software Engineer (m/f/d) to build a platform that makes AI technology accessible, focusing on scalable Python backend services and microservices architecture. You will design and implement backend components with Docker/Kubernetes, ensure performance and security via automated tests and CI/CD, and collaborate across agile teams.

Proficiency in English is required and experience with RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask/Django) is highly valued.

Qualifications

Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer (m/f/d), you build our platform that makes complex AI technology accessible to our users, from data annotation to model training. You design the backend services behind it and keep them fast, stable, and secure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• You design efficient, scalable backend architectures and implement them as microservices in Python.
• You ensure performance, stability, and security through automated testing and modern CI/CD practices.
• You work closely with frontend, machine learning, UX, and QA colleagues in agile teams (Scrum and Kanban).
• You contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and technology stack.

You help shape our platform architecture and technical direction.

What you need to succeed

• You have a degree in computer science or a comparable field.
• You already have professional experience building backend services in production.
• You apply software design patterns, testing, and engineering best practices consistently.
• You are familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS or GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
• You ideally have experience designing RESTful APIs in the Python ecosystem (FastAPI, Flask or Django).

You are fluent in English.
