Zusammenfassung

The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ), part of the Forschungsverbund Berlin, invites Bachelor- or Master students to join as a Student Assistant in the field of semiconductor crystal growth. Enroll in a natural science course and contribute to research work in Cz-puller processes using state-of-the-art lab facilities.

You will work in a vibrant international team and gain hands-on experience, with approximately 8 hours per week and a stipend-like arrangement.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolment in a natural science course (chemistry, physics or materials science).
• Interest in research & technology.
• Good knowledge of English.
• Basic knowledge of German is advantageous.
• Reliability, motivation and independent work, both in the laboratory and on the computer.

The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the field of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for pressing societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health, etc.) through modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the entire spectrum from basic and applied research to pre-industrial development and is carried out in cooperation with national and international partners from universities, academies and industry. The Czochralski (Cz) growth of bulk crystals is a unique expertise of our institute and is one of the main stream research activities of volume crystals department. The Si, Ge and SiGe are semiconductor materials, and the high-quality crystals of these materials with tailored properties and/or with ultra-high-purity find wider applications in energy-efficient electronics, photonics, quantum computing, or radiation detectors for fundamental research. You will be learning and contributing to the process developments using our pre-industrial scale Cz-pullers and state-of-the art lab facilities.

• Enrolment in a natural science course (preferably chemistry, physics or materials science)
• Interest in research & technology
• Good knowledge of English
• Basic knowledge of German is advantageous
• Reliability, motivation and independent work, both in the laboratory and on the computer
