The Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) in Berlin is seeking a Postdoc (m/f/d) to study the characterization of semiconducting oxide layers, with a focus on Ga2O3 and MOCVD process optimization in a BMFTR-funded project with AIXTRON. The role involves growth, structural and electrical characterization, and active participation in project meetings.
The position is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and is limited until September 30, 2028, with TVöD
The Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the field of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for pressing societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health, etc.) through modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the entire spectrum from basic and applied research to pre-industrial development and is carried out in cooperation with national and international partners from universities, academies and industry. The institute is part of the Forschungsverbund Berlin (https://www.fv-berlin.de/) and a member of the Leibniz Association (https://www.leibniz-gemeinschaft.de). You can find more details on the institute webpage: https://www.ikz-berlin.de.

for the topic:
“Characterization of semiconducting oxide layers”.
- Internal Job Posting -
Epitaxial layers are the key functional parts in electronic and opto-electronic devices. Characterization of the grown layers with respect to structure, defects and electrical properties is a major part in the research of process optimization in the growth of oxide layers. The focus will be on Ga2O3, an emerging material of high interest for high-power applications. The optimization of the MOCVD process in conjunction with building a digital twin is the topic of a BMFTR funded project together with the industrial partner AIXTRON.
