Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung in Berlin sucht eine studentische Hilfskraft zur Unterstützung bei der Kristallzüchtung. Sie arbeiten an der Cz-Wachstumstechnologie und unterstützen Forschungsprojekte im Bereich Si, Ge und SiGe.

Immatrikulation in einer naturwissenschaftlichen Disziplin, Interesse an Forschung, gute Englischkenntnisse und selbstständiges Arbeiten werden erwartet. Die Stelle bietet Einblicke in Laborarbeiten, internationale Zusammenarbeit und flexible Arbeitszeiten.

Qualifikationen

• Immatrikulation in einem naturwissenschaftlichen Studiengang (Chemie, Physik oder Materialwissenschaft).
• Interesse an Forschung & Technik.
• Gute Englischkenntnisse.
• Grundkenntnisse in Deutsch vorteilhaft.
• Zuverlässigkeit, Motivation und selbstständiges Arbeiten.

Aufgaben

• Unterstützung bei Forschungsarbeiten im Bereich Kristallzüchtung.
• Mitwirkung bei Prozessentwicklungen am Cz-Puller.
• Dokumentation und Planung von Experimenten im Labor.

The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the field of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for pressing societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health, etc.) through modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the entire spectrum from basic and applied research to pre-industrial development and is carried out in cooperation with national and international partners from universities, academies and industry. Bachelor- or Master Students / Student Assistant (m/f/d)

to do their research work in the field of semiconductor crystal growth.

The Czochralski (Cz) growth of bulk crystals is a unique expertise of our institute and is one of the main stream research activities of volume crystals department. The Si, Ge and SiGe are semiconductor materials, and the high-quality crystals of these materials with tailored properties and/or with ultra-high-purity find wider applications in energy-efficient electronics, photonics, quantum computing, or radiation detectors for fundamental research. You will be learning and contributing to the process developments using our pre-industrial scale Cz-pullers and state-of-the art lab facilities.

Pre-requisites:

• Enrolment in a natural science course (preferably chemistry, physics or materials science)
• Interest in research & technology
• Good knowledge of English
• Basic knowledge of German is advantageous
• Reliability, motivation and independent work, both in the laboratory and on the computer
