Take Advanced Technology from the Lab to the Real World

TUALCOM develops advanced GNSS and RF technologies for defence, aerospace and civil applications.

As we continue to grow across Germany and Europe, we are looking for an Application Engineer who can help customers understand, integrate and get the best from our technology.

This is a customer-facing engineering role, focused on technical support, product integration, demonstrations, certification and solving complex application challenges.

It offers the opportunity to remain close to advanced engineering while working directly with customers and helping turn complex technology into successful real-world applications.

The Opportunity

You will become a key technical link between our customers and our engineering teams.

Customers will look to you for guidance during product evaluation, integration and deployment. You will help them understand how our systems work, investigate technical challenges and coordinate the right expertise from across TUALCOM to reach a successful solution.

Working closely with product managers, design engineers and quality specialists, you will also bring customer insight back into the business. Your feedback will help us improve our products, applications, technical documentation and overall customer experience.

As your knowledge of the portfolio develops, you will take an increasingly prominent role in product presentations, technical demonstrations and customer meetings. This will include helping to plan, prepare and deliver demonstrations that clearly show the capability and performance of our technology.

You will also represent TUALCOM within relevant certification and standardisation activities, contributing technical expertise and helping to lead products through the necessary compliance and approval processes.

A Broad and Influential Engineering Role

This position offers considerably more scope than a conventional technical support role.

Alongside supporting customers with integration and technical issues, you will help shape how our products are understood, demonstrated and applied across the German market.

You will work closely with sales and marketing colleagues by providing the technical expertise needed during customer discussions, proposals, exhibitions, trade shows and industry events.

Through conversations with engineers, programme leaders and other technical stakeholders, you will build a detailed understanding of customer requirements and recommend the most appropriate TUALCOM solutions.

You will also help prepare quotations, respond to technical enquiries and ensure customer opportunities are supported accurately and professionally.

Good organisation will be important. Customer activity, opportunities and technical discussions will be recorded and followed through using our CRM and wider business systems.

The Person We Are Looking For

This opportunity is likely to suit an engineer who understands how complex electronic systems are developed, integrated and supported.

A background in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, communications engineering, industrial engineering or a closely related discipline would provide a strong foundation.

More importantly, you will bring proven, demonstrable experience involving system or subsystem development within defence, aerospace or another technically demanding environment.

You do not need to arrive as an expert in every TUALCOM product. You will, however, need the technical curiosity and engineering capability to learn a sophisticated portfolio of GNSS and RF technologies.

You should be comfortable:

• Discussing electronic systems with engineers and technical specialists
• Explaining complex technology clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Investigating integration issues and identifying practical solutions
• Supporting customers throughout product evaluation, integration and deployment
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations
• Working independently while collaborating closely with wider teams
• Using CRM, ERP and data systems to manage customer information, quotations and reporting
• Travelling within Germany and occasionally internationally

A standout candidate will combine technical depth with strong communication skills, curiosity and a genuine interest in helping customers solve difficult engineering challenges.

You may already be working as an Application Engineer, Systems Engineer, Field Application Engineer, Integration Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or Customer-Facing Development Engineer.

Whatever your current title, you will be someone who enjoys understanding how technology works, why customers need it and how it can be successfully applied.
