Optimus Search is seeking Applications Engineers / Application Scientists to support customers using advanced scientific, optical, and technical equipment. You will combine science and engineering with customer interaction, problem-solving and applications development.

Responsibilities include developing application-specific methods, conducting demonstrations, and collaborating with Sales, R&D and Engineering to address customer challenges.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Photonics, Optics, Materials Science or related discipline.
• Experience in applications engineering, scientific instrumentation, or laboratory tech.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; confident presenting technical concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Support customers with the implementation and use of advanced technical and scientific equipment.
• Develop and optimise applications and measurement methods based on customer requirements.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex applications.
• Conduct product demonstrations, evaluations and technical presentations.
• Work closely with customers to understand their technical challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
• Analyse experimental and measurement data and recommend improvements.
• Support equipment installation, configuration and commissioning where required.
• Develop application-specific procedures, test methods and technical documentation.
• Work closely with Sales, R&D and Engineering teams to communicate customer requirements and improve products.
• Provide technical training and guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Support pre-sales activities, customer trials and proof-of-concept projects.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with customers across Germany.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Photonics, Optics, Materials Science or a related scientific/technical discipline.
• Experience in applications engineering, scientific instrumentation, laboratory technology or a related technical environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicating technical concepts to customers.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with sales and technical teams.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel within Germany where required.
