Job summary

Clera is seeking a founding Chief of Staff to partner with the CEO on shaping strategy, operations, and growth for an early-stage AI legaltech startup.

You will build and scale go-to-market, sales, content marketing, and hiring processes from the ground up, then transition ownership to dedicated leaders, while integrating AI tools into everyday workflows and leading cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• 2–10+ years of experience in startups or founding a company.
• Proven ability to build processes from zero to one (go-to-market, sales, marketing, or hiring).
• Direct experience working with a CEO on strategic initiatives.
• Daily use of AI tools in core workflow with strong technical fluency.
• Fluent in German and English; strong analytical and problem-solving.

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI legaltech startup as its founding Chief of Staff, partnering directly with the CEO. You will help shape strategy, operations, and growth, and establish how the organization works as it scales.

What You'll Do

• Partner with the CEO on strategic initiatives, including fundraising and investor relations.

• Build go-to-market, sales, content marketing, and hiring processes from the ground up, then transition ownership to dedicated leaders.

• Work with leadership to bring AI tools and workflows into the company's day-to-day operations.

• Lead high-impact projects across functions with a hands-on approach.

What We're Looking For

• Between 2 and 10+ years of experience, including work at an early-stage startup or experience founding a company.

• Experience building processes from zero to one across go-to-market, sales, marketing, or hiring.

• Experience working directly with a CEO or founders on strategic initiatives.

• Daily, practical use of AI tools as part of your core workflow, with strong technical fluency.

• Fluency in German and English, strong analytical thinking, and a first-principles approach to problem-solving.

• A background in management consulting and a hands‑on, entrepreneurial approach suited to fast‑paced, unstructured environments.

• Founder experience or a genuine ambition to start a company.
