Job Description
Generate, maintain, enhance, and drive Microchip’s sales and business relationships with key Aerospace and Defence customers in Central Europe, with a focus on Germany.
Responsibilities
- Identify, pre‑qualify, manage, and close major designs and new opportunities within Aerospace and Defence accounts in Central Europe.
- Coordinate Microchip’s technical and commercial resources with key customers to increase sales and sales potential, and develop and implement sales strategies across client divisions and geographic locations.
- Drive the company’s business relationship with assigned clients, identify key stakeholder groups, and coach stakeholders to build consensus for Microchip’s solutions.
- Provide quarterly billing forecasts for direct and distribution customers, produce bookings forecasts and other ad‑hoc reports, and give commercial support to channel partners (Production Win Representatives, distributors, and design partners).
- Use the Microchip Client Engagement Process to gain credibility with customers and offer unique insights that link back to Microchip’s solutions.
- Maintain Microchip’s Compass and Model N opportunity systems for the region.
- Work as part of the wider A&D and Central Europe sales and applications team, attending team meetings and specific events.
- Communicate effectively with product divisions, providing quantifiable feedback and ROI for their investments in clients.
Qualifications and Requirements
- BSc in Electronics or related engineering disciplines, or equivalent (preferred).
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a technical field‑sales role with a track record of sales success in a design‑in environment, especially in the Aerospace and Defence market segment.
- Proficiency in German and English; business‑fluent language skills.
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry and familiarity with FPGA, microcontroller, analog, RF, wireless, networking and communication products.
- Strategic/critical thinking, systematic problem‑solving, and the ability to hypothesize client pain points and craft solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor presentations to client needs.
- Interpersonal influence skills, using rational and emotional drivers to drive conversations toward mutual value.
- Networking skills, capable of quickly building connections with internal and external stakeholders to achieve consensus for design wins.
- Ownership mindset, self‑directed initiative, and relentless drive to achieve results.
- Workflow management skills, setting realistic, time‑bound objectives and breaking them into actionable tasks.
