Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead architecture and technical strategy for aerospace thermal management projects. The role centers on coordinating multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software domains while ensuring rigorous verification, risk management, and client communication.

The engineer will drive requirements management, model-based systems engineering, and documentation from prototype to production, mentoring junior staff

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Engineering, preferably within Thermal Management Systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university with 15+ years’ Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience with aerospace disciplines including requirements management, verification/validation, mechanical design, and embedded controls.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 environmental testing and qualification methods.

Aufgaben

• Develop and own program architecture and technical approach.
• Lead technical projects and act as primary technical contact for clients.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across thermal, installation, mechanical, reliability, controls, electronics, software, and testing.
• Coordinate technical activities with internal and external resources.
• Identify and manage technical risks with the Program Manager.
• Manage technical requirements through traceability, decomposition, derivation, and verification/validation.
• Decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specs for groups and suppliers.
• Contribute to technical strategy and grow the engineering team.
• Research and recommend investments in technology and systems.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers during design development.
• Review and approve documentation for transition from prototype to production.
• Provide engineering support to troubleshoot non-performing products (RCCA, lessons learned).
• Lead and mentor junior staff and participate in team development.

• Develop and be responsible for program architecture and technical approach
• Lead technical development projects and serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams covering thermal analysis, installation, mechanical design and analysis, reliability, controls, electronics and software, and testing
• Serve as technical lead for programs and coordinate technical activities with internal and external resources
• Identify and manage program technical risks with the Program Manager
• Manage technical requirements through traceability, decomposition, derivation, and verification and validation
• Allocate and decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specifications for functional groups, components, and suppliers
• Contribute to technical strategy and the growth and maturation of the engineering team
• Research and recommend investments or changes in technology, toolsets, procedures, equipment, and systems
• Communicate and collaborate with customers and suppliers during design development
• Review and approve documentation for transition from prototype to production
• Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and diagnose non-performing products, including RCCA and lessons learned
• Lead and mentor junior staff
• Participate in development of the technical team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Engineering, preferably within Thermal Management Systems
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college, with 15+ years of work experience in Systems Engineering, preferably within Thermal Management Systems
• Working knowledge of aerospace technical disciplines including requirements management, technical verification and validation, mechanical design, materials, modeling/documentation, structural analysis, thermal fluid sciences, electrical systems, system controls, embedded controls, development testing and analysis, and qualification analysis and testing
• Understanding of aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes, including traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation
• Functional understanding of major aircraft systems, including environmental control systems, powerplant, electrical, hydraulics, controls, avionics, power generation, and structures
• Experience with Vapor Cycle Systems, Liquid Cooling Systems, and/or Air Cycle Systems
• Experience with standard components in VCS, LCS, and ACS, including heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, valves, motor and motor controllers, and water collectors/separators
• Familiarity with environmental testing and qualification methods such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160
• Experience with requirements management tools and model-based systems engineering tools and processes heavily desired
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
• Established project management skills
• Ability to prove U.S. Person status as a U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
