Job summary

ecosio GmbH, a leading B2B integration specialist, is seeking an accountant to manage financial records, reconciliations, and closes in a remote-first environment across EU locations. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with local GAAP, and collaboration with tax advisors.

Ideal candidates have a commercial degree, 2–5 years accounting experience, and familiarity with BMD/Workday. Remote work from designated countries is supported, with flexible hours and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial graduation (HAK/Bachelor/Master’s degree).
• At least 2-5 years experience in accounting.
• Accountant certificate advantageous.
• Sense for numbers and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work in a team and under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of BMD and/or Workday are an advantage.
• Fluency in German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managing, analysing, and maintaining accurate financial records across AR, AP, FA, GL, expenses and payroll accounting.
• Reconciling balance sheets including bank and intercompany accounts; investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and intercompany accounting.
• Assisting with VAT and tax filings, statutory statements and regulatory reports.
• Ensuring compliance with local GAAP and US GAAP; supporting SOX controls.
• Assisting with year-end audits and preparation of financial statements.

Job Description

• Financial Record Management: Managing, analysing, and maintaining accurate financial records and transactions across accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), fixed assets (FA), general ledger (GL), employee expenses, travel, and payroll-related accounting. This includes processing incoming and outgoing invoices, monitoring payments and receivables, and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and documented.
• Reconciling Accounts: Preparing and maintaining regular balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, credit card, payroll, intercompany, and other relevant accounts. Investigating discrepancies and ensuring open items are resolved accurately and on time.
• Managing Closings: Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany accounting, and other closing-related tasks to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting.
• External & Statutory Reporting: Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT and tax-related filings, statutory financial statements, and reports to national banks, statistical offices, and other relevant authorities. Coordinating with external accounting, payroll, and tax advisors where required.
• Regulatory Compliance & Controls: Ensuring accounting activities and financial reporting comply with applicable local GAAP requirements, internal policies, and US GAAP reporting requirements. Performing and documenting assigned internal controls, including SOX controls, and supporting the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
• Year-End Audit & Financial Statements: Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements and collaborating with external and internal auditors by preparing required financial information, documentation, reconciliations, and audit evidence.

The minimum salary for this position in Austria is 50 000€ / year. Your actual salary will be determined by your experience and location.
