Job summary

Mitsui & Co Europe Ltd is seeking a skilled accounting professional to join the Accounting and Business Support and Control Department in Düsseldorf. You will be responsible for processing invoices, supporting month-end closures, and providing financial analysis to support decision making.

The role requires a solid understanding of HGB and VAT regulations, experience with SAP S/4HANA and Excel, and strong English and German language skills.

Qualifications

• University studies in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting or related field.
• Completed commercial training with IHK accountant qualification (ideally International Accountant IHK).
• Professional experience in accounting, finance, taxation, or a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB) and international standards.
• Strong taxation knowledge, especially VAT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process, verify, and post supplier and customer invoices.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
• Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and master data accuracy.

As part of our Business Support and Control Department, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting,

regulatory compliance, and business support through financial analysis and accounting expertise.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing, verifying, and posting supplier and customer invoices
• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
• Analysing financial performance and business results against budgets and forecasts
• Maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring the accuracy of accounting master data
• Acting as a trusted business partner and point of contact for accounting-related matters across various

• Preparing and submitting Intrastat reports and VAT returns
• Reviewing and monitoring VAT-relevant transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Supporting the calculation and reporting of corporate and trade tax obligations
• Preparing financial reports, analyses, statistics, and management information to support business decision making
• Contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and business planning processes

Your qualifications and Experience:

• Successfully completed university studies (bachelor’s or master’s degree) in Business Administration, Finance,
• Accounting, or a related field
• Or completed commercial training supplemented by further professional qualification as an Accountant (IHK),
• ideally as an International Accountant (IHK)
• Professional experience in accounting, finance, taxation, or a comparable position.
• Sound knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB) and a good understanding of international accounting
• standards.
• Solid knowledge of taxation, particularly VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA or SAP HANA.
