Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior UI Technical Designer to translate UX/visual direction into practical UI specifications and prototypes for Unreal Engine. You will define flows, interaction rules, and component standards to ensure reliable cross-platform delivery.

The role bridges design and engineering, collaborating with engineers and UI artists to create feasible, performant in-engine solutions while maintaining scalable UI systems and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• 3+ years shipping digital products or game UI.
• Expert in Figma with components, variants, auto-layout, and handoff-ready documentation.
• Ability to create implementation-ready documentation: annotated layouts, interaction notes, state diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
• Understanding of Unreal UI constraints and workflows.
• Familiarity with UMG concepts (layout, anchors, scaling, widget states/animations).
• Experience with focus-based navigation across multi-input (controller + keyboard/mouse).
• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher.

Responsibilities

• Define UI flows, user journeys, and interaction models for in-game screens and features; produce clear, implementable specs.
• Build and maintain a scalable UI component system (patterns, components, variants, states).
• Author detailed behavior rules: navigation/focus order, back behavior, input handling and states.
• Collaborate daily with client engineers and UI artists to ensure designs are feasible, performant, and in-engine.
• Support iteration and polish: review implementations, provide actionable feedback, and adjust designs based on constraints and playtest findings.
