Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior UI Technical Artist to define tech art systems and motion language that unify a scalable game UI across platforms. You will elevate visual and UX designs with polished, performant solutions and mentor UI artists.

You will work with cross-functional teams on Unreal Engine 5, materials, sequencing, and tooling. This role emphasizes collaboration, optimization, and delivering premium UI experiences in an international environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Technical Artist, UI Tech Artist, or VFX Artist in games.
• Senior-level mentorship for guiding UI artists and visual designers.
• Strong cross-platform planning balancing fidelity and performance.
• Expert Unreal Engine 5 skills, including Material Editor and Niagara.
• Advanced Sequencer skills for animated transitions and cinematic camera moves.
• Strong shader and UV math skills and optimization.
• Solid 3D and UI integration across cameras, lighting, and post-processing.
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2) proficiency in speaking and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define UI tech art systems, templates, thematics for scalable UI.
• Build polished UI tech art solutions using materials, UMG, animation, FX, lighting, blueprints, and camera tools.
• Establish consistent visual patterns for motion, FX, transitions, scale and proportion.
• Create animated UI transitions and cinematic camera moves using Sequencer.
• Plan UI tech art adaptation across platforms, balancing fidelity, memory and performance.
• Own UI tech art tooling, pipelines, and asset management to improve team efficiency.
• Mentor UI artists and visual designers to align execution with shared language.
• Integrate 3D and UI workflows, including spatial and diegetic UI, cameras, and framing.
• Optimize shaders, textures, and materials through profiling and real-time tuning.
• Collaborate with designers to refine micro-interactions and a premium UI feel.
