OpenMined is a nonprofit building open-source infrastructure for federated AI. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to design and ship core privacy-preserving AI evaluation infrastructure, deploy in partner environments, and guide MVPs as we scale to multiple deployments.

You will work with our AI Oversight team, own significant components, and collaborate with a global, fully remote team while aligning with US Eastern hours. This is a contractor engagement with an initial 12-month term.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with strong Python skills.
• Excellent hands-on coding, clean, reliable, readable, and well-tested code.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, systems design, and engineering trade-offs.
• Strong communication skills, including timelines, risks, and trade-offs.
• Full-stack experience on backend, data, frontend, deployment.

Mansioni

• Design, build and ship core infrastructure for privacy-preserving AI evaluation, mostly in Python
• Build and strengthen our secure enclave (TEE) solutions
• Extend PySyft, our open-source library, including workers and verified receipts
• Deploy and support our software in partner environments, ensuring reliable deployments
• Help take the product from one production deployment to several, improving reliability and user experience
• Write clean, tested, readable code, and review teammates' work
• Turn ambiguous requirements into clear designs, and explain trade-offs to engineers and non-engineers
• Use AI coding tools to move fast while keeping quality high
