Job summary

Toloka AI is seeking a Freelance Forward Deployed AI Engineer to partner with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and research leaders. You will design and build data-generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines powering next‑gen AI models, and own client solutions from discovery through delivery.

This hands-on role combines consulting, engineering, and AI, requiring strong Python and ML skills, multi‑stage pipeline design, and mentoring of engineers and consultants.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex AI, ML, or data projects end to end
• Experience influencing technical direction beyond individual projects
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical counterpart to CTOs and VP levels
• Design and build data-labeling, data-generation, and evaluation pipelines
• Architect multi-stage end-to-end AI data solutions and pipelines
• Provide technical leadership across client engagements and set engineering standards
• Mentor Solution Engineers and Technical Consultants
• Manage executive conversations with evidence-based recommendations
