Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform, including APIs, resilience mechanisms, and AI-facing integrations.

You will work on a Python service for observation/intent/outcome events, design contract-first interfaces, and ensure end-to-end quality across distributed systems. The role emphasizes GenAI-enabled development and strong communication in a global context.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production Python experience with typed, tested services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
• Experience with REST API design and OpenAPI; AsyncAPI contracts a plus.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with GenAI-assisted development and AI coding agents.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing); CI/CD pipelines; Linux; Git and containers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to defend architectural trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve a Python service handling an observation/intent/outcome event taxonomy.
• Design and maintain contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Develop the platform's resilience and ensure safe, recoverable operations during outages.
• Create multiple access patterns (fire-and-forget, polling, webhooks) for consumer integrations.
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for teams.
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling interfaces.
• Modernize legacy integrations without disrupting existing consumers.
• Own code quality, reviews, tests, observability, and production support.
