AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Python Developer in Cartagena, Colombia to build and scale an event-driven integration platform with APIs, resilience, and AI-facing integrations. The role emphasizes production Python experience, distributed systems, and modern DevOps practices.

You will design contract-first interfaces, develop a durable event log, and implement diverse access patterns for downstream ITSM integrations. Strong collaboration with global teams and a growth mindset are required.

Formación

• 4+ years of production experience with Python, typed, tested, packaged services and APIs.
• Event-driven and asynchronous architecture with messaging, durable logs, at-least-once delivery, idempotency, retries, DLQ, replay/backpressure.
• REST API design and OpenAPI experience; familiarity with AsyncAPI.
• Kafka or equivalent streaming platform in use.
• GenAI-assisted development and fluency with AI coding agents.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing), CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Git and containers.
• Methodical debugging across distributed systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to justify architectural trade-offs.
• Desire to continuously learn and evaluate new tools.

Responsabilidades

• Build a Python service handling an event taxonomy, durable replayable log, and ITSM platform operations.
• Design and maintain contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create a correlation layer turning signals into right ITSM actions, ensuring exactly-once delivery.
• Develop resilience mechanisms to keep services usable during upstream outages.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhooks, streams.
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for teams.
• Build GenAI-facing integration surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling.
• Migrate legacy integrations via deprecation paths without breaking consumers.
• Own end-to-end quality: code reviews, testing, observability, and production support.
• Participate in ceremonies and meetings with consuming teams.
• Autonomously own components or projects and document key decisions.
