Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to guide engineering teams on cloud costs and optimization. The role requires APAC hours with overlap to PST and CST, and strong collaboration with R&D to forecast, monitor spend, and report findings.

Responsibilities include real-time guidance, structured investigations, and influential cost-saving recommendations, with a focus on OpenAI/LLM spend and cost modeling. Excellent written and verbal English required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of FinOps experience.
• Strong cloud cost management and optimization expertise.
• Ability to investigate spend anomalies and produce root-cause analyses.
• Experience partnering with R&D/engineering teams.
• Forecasting cloud costs and aligning forecasts with team plans.
• Familiarity with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring spend.
• Cost modeling and tracking for teams.
• Proficiency with Jira for documenting investigations and Slack for real-time support.
• Maintaining technical docs/wiki and contributing to Showback reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for R&D teams seeking cloud cost guidance via Slack and other channels.
• Engage APAC-based teams to review monthly cloud spending and surface cost opportunities.
• Investigate spend anomalies, build root-cause analyses, and document in Jira.
• Collaborate on monthly forecasting with assigned R&D teams and document plans.
• Contribute to Showback reporting with AI/LLM cost drivers and cost drivers insights.
• Support Cost Awareness and Cost Education initiatives and update wiki pages.
• Model team cost projections and respond to help requests via Slack and email.
