Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Software Engineer – Storage based in Colombia to build a high‑performance object storage platform that scales for millions of users.

You will work across the stack—from storage servers and edge delivery to APIs, tooling, and open‑source contributions—fostering reliability, performance, and developer experience in a globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production.
• Experience designing, building, or operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Comfort working across the technology stack, including backend application development and infrastructure deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Experience with performance tuning, production troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of distributed services.
• Strong practical experience with PostgreSQL in production, including database tuning and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Enhance storage capabilities and support open formats like Iceberg and DuckLake.
• Optimize asset delivery for speed and performance.
• Expand edge infrastructure and cache invalidation.
• Improve storage server performance with monitoring and tuning.
• Develop storage exploration tools with frontend collaboration.
• Improve APIs, client libraries, and CLI for better developer experience.
• Strengthen upload/download reliability across clients.
• Contribute to open-source storage components and upstream deps.
• Work across backend, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
• Drive projects end to end from problem definition to delivery.
