Higher Options is seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to support financial operations for a U.S.-based hospitality & events group. The role emphasizes QuickBooks Online expertise and an understanding of how transactions impact the income statement, balance sheet, and business performance.

Responsibilities include month-end close, multi-entity reporting, cash flow monitoring, and collaboration with leadership to provide actionable financial insight. Remote work with overlap to U.S.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years in a senior‑level accounting role.
• Experience in U.S. companies or American-aligned work environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.

Responsabilidades

• Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
• Review and classify transactions correctly, with a strong understanding of their impact on the income statement and balance sheet.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements across multiple entities.
• Analyze month-over-month financial results and flag numbers that look unusual or inconsistent.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, intercompany transactions, and other key accounts.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support payroll review, payroll allocations, and related reporting across entities.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting needs.
• Help maintain accurate inventory, COGS, fixed asset, and general ledger records.
• Support tax compliance, audit readiness, and coordination with external accountants or advisors.
• Improve accounting workflows, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Partner closely with founders and leadership to provide clear, useful financial insight.
