Higher Options is seeking a Senior Accountant/Financial Controller to support a U.S.-based group of hospitality and events brands. The role emphasizes QuickBooks Online expertise, clean, well-classified books, and strong understanding of how transactions impact the income statement and balance sheet.

The ideal candidate will review monthly results across entities, reconcile key accounts, and lead close processes while coordinating with leadership to provide clear financial insight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years in a senior-level accounting role.
• Experience in U.S. companies or American-aligned work environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
• Review and classify transactions with impact on income statement and balance sheet.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements across entities.
• Analyze MoM results and flag unusual fluctuations.
• Reconcile bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and key accounts.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with timeliness and accuracy.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support payroll review and related reporting across entities.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting needs.
• Maintain inventory, COGS, fixed assets, and general ledger records.
• Support tax compliance and auditor coordination.
• Improve accounting workflows and SOPs; provide financial insight to leadership.
