Job summary

DOXA is seeking a meticulous Bookkeeper in Colombia to support daily bookkeeping, ensuring monthly bank and credit card reconciliations are accurate in Sage 50. You will work with the President and current bookkeeper to maintain records, investigate discrepancies, and keep organized documentation. This role focuses on bookkeeping and admin accounting with no customer-facing tasks.

Location: Colombia – Remote. English proficiency at B2+ to C1. Contract: Non-fixed Term Contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of bookkeeping experience; senior level welcome.
• Hands-on experience with Sage 50 Accounting, including AP data entry.
• Bank reconciliations for bank and credit card statements (AmEx).
• Working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliation and recordkeeping.
• Investigate discrepancies and maintain supporting documentation.
• Handle confidential financial records with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Keep bank accounts current by reconciling each account monthly.
• Reconcile credit card records monthly, including AmEx.
• Enter accounts payable invoices into Sage 50 accurately and on time.
• Research missing invoices, credits, duplicates, and unmatched transactions; record findings.
• Maintain supporting documentation for every transaction and reconciliation.
• Move unresolved items forward to the bookkeeper and President as needed.
• Support team with data entry and other bookkeeping tasks.
