Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases, collaborating with engineering teams. This hands-on DBA role focuses on database administration, performance, security, and reliability—not Data Engineering.

Requirements include 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience, SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, AWS RDS/Aurora, scalability and DR, and upper-intermediate English.

Qualifications

• Mid-level DBA with 3–4 years of hands-on experience.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Proficient in AWS, particularly RDS and Aurora.
• Programming in PowerShell or Python.
• IaC experience with Terraform.
• Kafka (Confluent Kafka) administration & troubleshooting.
• Strong performance analysis and tuning.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams under tight deadlines.
• Experience administering high-function, high-availability production systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production database systems.
• Plan for disaster recovery with zero data loss.
• Keep databases secure; enforce access control and security protocols.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Work with engineers on design, performance tuning, and support.
• Operate hands-on in an extremely technical data environment.
• Stay composed under pressure in stressful situations.
