Job summary

AgileEngine seeks a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases in a hands-on role focused on administration, performance, security, and reliability—not data engineering.

The candidate should have 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, plus PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, AWS RDS and Aurora, and strong disaster recovery and English skills.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with both Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS, particularly RDS and Aurora.
• Programming experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with Kafka (Confluent Kafka), administration and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience with performance analysis and tuning.
• Experience working with engineering teams and delivering on tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production database systems and keep them performing well.
• Plan for and carry out disaster recovery, ensuring zero data loss.
• Keep database systems secure, including access control and security protocols.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Work closely with engineers on system design, performance tuning and support.
• Operate hands-on in a highly technical environment administering data systems.
• Stay composed under pressure in stressful situations.
