Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases in collaboration with engineering teams.

This hands-on DBA role focuses on database administration, performance, security, and reliability, not data engineering. The candidate should have 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience, with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, and proficiency in PowerShell or Python.

Qualifications

• Hands-on 3–4 years as a DBA on production databases.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or Python.
• IaC with Terraform.
• Kafka administration and troubleshooting.
• AWS RDS and Aurora management.
• Strong performance tuning and DR planning.
• Upper-intermediate English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production databases and optimize performance.
• Plan and implement disaster recovery with zero data loss.
• Ensure database security and access control.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers on design, performance, and support.
• Hands-on in a technical environment managing data systems behind the scenes.
• Stay composed under pressure in demanding situations.
