Job summary
AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases in a hands-on role. You will work closely with engineering to ensure performance, security, and reliability while focusing on production systems rather than data engineering.
The role requires 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS/Aurora, PowerShell or Python, Terraform, and Confluent Kafka.
Qualifications
- 3–4 years hands-on DBA experience
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL
- Experience with AWS, especially RDS and Aurora
- Programming experience with PowerShell or Python
- Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform
- Experience with Kafka (Confluent Kafka)
- Extensive experience with performance analysis and tuning
- Experience with high-availability production systems
Responsibilities
- Maintain high availability of production database systems.
- Plan for disaster recovery with zero data loss.
- Ensure security and access control across databases.
- Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
- Collaborate with engineering on design, performance tuning, and support.
- Hands-on operation of data systems supporting the website.
