Job summary

Formulated Automation is seeking a detail-oriented Junior / Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team. This full-time, remote position reports to the Finance Controller and requires working within Eastern Time Zone business hours.

You will support day-to-day accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting while growing with a scaling finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations (bank, credit card, AP/AR, balance sheet).
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations across operating accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile corporate credit card activity, review expense coding and receipts.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile AP/AR subledgers to the general ledger and review aging reports.
• Support AP processing, including vendor coding, payment runs, and inquiries.
• Support AR activities, including invoicing, cash application, and collections.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and fixed asset register, including depreciation.
• Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and close checklist, analysis, and reports.
• Prepare schedules for external audits, tax preparers, lenders, and investors.
• Assist with sales tax, 1099 preparation, and other compliance filings.
• Help maintain chart of accounts, accounting policies, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to automate reconciliations and processes.
• Support ad hoc FP&A requests from leadership.
