Job summary

AppGate Cybersecurity, Inc. is seeking an L1 Analyst to join our GFC operations team. You will be the first line of defense, investigating cybersecurity events with curiosity and proactive problem solving.

The role emphasizes thorough data analysis, collaboration with teammates, and ongoing process improvement. You will handle alerts from tickets, email, and calls, perform threat monitoring, and escalate complex issues when needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in operations environments (SOC, Help Desk, or similar).
• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and web fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• First Responder: act as the initial point of contact for security events via tickets, email and phone.
• Proactive Threat analysis & Monitoring: continuous monitoring, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessments.
• Incident Response & Escalation: resolve issues, escalate complex problems to Level 2 and Team Leaders.
• Continuous Improvement: participate in investigations and test new monitoring and remediation tools.
• Documentation & Best Practices: document actions taken within incident management and propose improvements to processes.
• Team Collaboration: work with local and external staff and train junior analysts and interns.
