Job summary

AppGate Cybersecurity, Inc. in Colombia is seeking an L1 Analyst to join our GFC operations team. You will act as the first line of defense, investigating alerts, communicating clearly with clients, and supporting proactive threat analysis.

The role requires 1 year in SOC/Help Desk or similar, with Windows and Linux proficiency and basic HTML knowledge. English at B1/B2 level is expected, plus curiosity and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Education: Student or Graduate in Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar.
• Experience: At least 1 year in operations environments (SOC, Help Desk, or similar).
• Technical: Windows and Linux OS; basic HTML and web fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• First Responder: initial point of contact for security events via tickets, email, and phone.
• Proactive Threat analysis & Monitoring: continuous monitoring, threat analysis, vulnerability assessments.
• Incident Response & Escalation: escalate complex issues to Level 2 analysts and Team Leaders when needed.
• Continuous Improvement: propose ideas, test new monitoring/remediation tools.
• Documentation & Best Practices: document actions in incident management and suggest process improvements.
• Team Collaboration: work with local and external teams and assist in training juniors and interns.
