Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a Junior Associate Counsel, Commercial Transactions in Bogota, Colombia. This early‑career role sits on the Legal team and supports drafting, negotiating, and closing a variety of vendor and merchant agreements under US law, largely in English, with Madrid‑style playbooks and Claude‑enabled workflows.

You will work alongside Senior Counsel, gaining real transactional experience, while applying strong fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Law degree and admission to practice in LATAM (tarjeta profesional) or a US jurisdiction.
• 1–2 years of commercial, corporate, or transactional experience at a law firm or in‑house, including internships, prácticas, or judicatura.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) plus native or fluent Spanish.
• Hands‑on experience drafting or reviewing commercial contracts in English.
• Experience using Claude or similar AI tools to support workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of contracts.
• Business‑first mindset with ability to explain risk in plain language.
• Availability to work with full overlap with US Central business hours.
• Nice to have: LL.M. in US law; fintech/payments/ecommerce exposure; data privacy terms; CLM tools.
• Demonstrated experience using Claude or similar AI tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Vendor contracts: review and negotiate NDAs, orders, SOWs, and standard SaaS, services, data, and marketing agreements.
• Merchant agreements: prepare drafts, amendments, onboarding terms, and handle counterparty redlines.
• Issue spotting: identify exposure terms and summarize in plain English for deal teams and senior counsel.
• Business support: provide fast, practical guidance to Sales, Partnerships, Procurement, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
• AI workflows: run contracts through Claude‑enabled review workflows and improve playbooks.
• Intake and lifecycle: manage matters through intake queue and CLM, track renewals and obligations.
• Templates and precedent: maintain contract templates and precedent library for faster deals.
• Compliance coordination: ensure vendor/partner agreements include third‑party risk management terms.
