Beijing Foreign Enterprise Management Consultants Co.,Ltd. in Bogotá seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to support LATAM operations, drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance, and guiding cross-border risk management.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in law firms or in-house roles, with 2+ years in tech or internet sectors, native Spanish and fluent English, and solid knowledge of Colombian contract law and data protection regulations. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Contract Management: draft, review and negotiate complex LATAM commercial contracts including service, distribution, channel partnerships and NDAs.
• Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: monitor data protection regulations and localize privacy policies.
• Intellectual Property Protection: manage trademark registration and IP enforcement in LATAM.
• Dispute Resolution: handle commercial/labor disputes and liaise with external law firms.
• Legal Advisory: support HR on employment matters and advise business lines on new models.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Legal Counsel to join our team in Bogotá, Colombia.

As a trusted business partner, you will provide comprehensive legal support for the Latin American region, playing a critical role in daily operations, commercial contracts, compliance management, and cross-border risk control.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts (service, distribution, channel partnerships, and NDAs) across LATAM.
• Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Monitor and interpret data protection regulations (such as Ley 1581 de 2012 in Colombia and regional frameworks) and localize privacy policies and terms of service.
• Intellectual Property Protection: Manage trademark registration, enforcement, and handle IP disputes across LATAM jurisdictions.
• Dispute Resolution: Handle commercial/labor disputes and oversee local external law firms.
• Legal Advisory: Provide daily legal support to business lines, assess new business models, and assist HR with employment matters.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Minimum 5 years of law firm or in-house legal experience, with at least 2 years in the tech/internet industry.
• Native Spanish speaker with fluent English (written and spoken, CEFR B2 or above).
• Strong expertise in Colombian contract law, data protection (Ley 1581), IP, and labor law, alongside a solid grasp of the LATAM business environment.
• Preferred: Experience in cloud computing, SaaS, or digital content services; familiarity with GDPR intersection with LATAM laws.
