Job summary

Sezzle is hiring a Junior Associate Counsel, Commercial Transactions to support vendor contracts and merchant agreements in a fast-paced legal team. You will draft, negotiate, and close agreements in English with US counterparties, while aligning with Sezzle’s playbooks and Claude-enabled workflows.

You will work closely with Senior Counsel, Commercial Transactions and cross‑function teams to enable business objectives and ensure risk is managed effectively.

Qualifications

• Law degree and license to practice in LATAM or US.
• 1–2 years of commercial, corporate, or transactional experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Full professional fluency in English and native or fluent Spanish.
• Hands-on drafting or reviewing English-language contracts.
• Experience using Claude or similar AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate NDAs, order forms, SOWs, and standard SaaS, services, data, and marketing agreements.
• Draft merchant agreements, amendments, and onboarding terms.
• Identify terms with exposure and summarize them for deal teams and senior counsel.
• Provide fast, practical guidance to Sales, Partnerships, Procurement, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
• Run contracts through Claude-enabled review workflows and improve playbooks.
• Manage matters through intake queue and contract lifecycle platform, track renewals and obligations.
• Maintain contract templates and precedent library to speed future deals.
• Coordinate with Compliance and Procurement on third‑party risk terms.
