Evertec, a leading technology and transaction processing company with a presence in more than 11 countries and serving clients across Latin America and the Caribbean, is seeking a Database Administration Specialist in Colombia to administer relational and cloud databases.

You will optimize performance, implement backup/recovery strategies, and ensure data security while supporting database design and architecture improvements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in database administration.
• Experience in Oracle, SQL Server (MSSQL Server), DB2, and MySQL.
• Experience working with cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS), including Oracle on EC2, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Amazon Aurora, and Redshift.
• Knowledge in performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, database security, and troubleshooting.
• Intermediate English proficiency, with the ability to understand technical documentation and communicate in technical environments.

As a Database Administration Specialist your responsibilities will be:

• Administering, monitoring, and maintaining relational and cloud-based databases.
• Optimizing performance and tuning systems to improve response times.
• Implementing backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Managing access controls and ensuring data security.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring system availability.
• Supporting database design and architecture improvements.

In addition, you can make a difference if you meet:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in database administration.
• Experience in one or more database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server (MSSQL Server), DB2, and MySQL.
