Job summary

ScotiaTech in Bogota, Colombia, part of ScotiaGBS and Scotiabank, seeks a hands-on analyst to contribute to the Global Fraud Technology team. You will research user requirements, map data, and support implementation of complex solutions across the bank's platforms.

Key tasks include defining workflows, building data lineage and metadata models, testing, and stakeholder coordination. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in financial/IT, Agile/Scrum, SQL/CQL, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in financial/IT industry or relevant experience.
• Experience in capital markets or related space.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with solution recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum software delivery.
• Experience in SQL & CQL; Jira, Confluence, Excel, Visio.
• Refinitiv/Bloomberg experience is a plus.
• Under-graduate degree in CS, Business Admin, or related field.

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Fraud Technology team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Daily basis

Assist the Product Owner/Project Manager by conducting research and analysis, and accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the needs of the supported Line of Business. This may involve participation in rapid prototyping, with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis, that provides interim deliverables until a final production solution is created.

Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and providing user documentation, and user training.

• Data management

Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements.

Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems.

• Support

Support the team on day-to-day activities such as coordinating stakeholders, managing and updating project management artifacts.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information

• 3+ year experience in financial/IT industry or relevant experience
• Experience in capital market or related space
• Possesses strong problem solving and analysis skills followed by good ability to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations and solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problem.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to build consensus and obtain cooperation from stakeholders, as well as time management and organizational skills to effectively manage deliverables and planning of resources.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment where processes and procedures are consistently refined.
• Ability to adapt and handle multiple tasks/competing priorities simultaneously.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum software delivery model.
• Experience in SQL & CQL query.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio
• Refinitiv and Bloomberg experience will be an asset.
• Under-graduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
