A major financial service provider located in Bogota, Colombia, is seeking a Software Engineer Specialist to join their Enterprise Content Solutions team. You’ll work on high-visibility applications focusing on quality, scalability, and innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate has over 6 years of experience with Java, REST APIs, and familiarity with SQL and Linux, alongside a degree in a relevant field. Formación

• 6+ years of experience working with Java/J2EE and .NET.
• 6+ years of experience designing, coding, and deploying REST and SOAP services.
• 5+ years experience using Linux or Unix scripting.
• 3+ years in modern CI/CD pipelines (TFS, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins).

Software Engineer Specialist – ScotiaTech

Scotiabank’s new and innovative Technology hub, ScotiaTech, located in Bogota, Colombia, is seeking a Software Engineer Specialist to join our Enterprise Content Solutions team.

Purpose

The Enterprise Content Solutions team leads transformation, architecture, development, and support for applications globally. This role will report to the Sr. Development Manager and will work on high‑visibility initiatives.

Accountabilities

• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts, and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web‑ and desktop‑based business applications built on Microsoft technologies.
• Participate in solution design discussions focused on scalability, design, and implementation best practices.
• Ensure software, programs, and applications are developed and/or configured to meet high availability, integrity, and reliability requirements.
• Work with other developers and business analysts on breaking‑down, scoping, and estimating tasks.
• Deliver code for development, modernization, and integration to meet business needs.
• Proactively partner with business line representatives to drive improved technology solutions that support business strategy.
• Work closely with onshore and offshore vendor partners to ensure solutions delivered meet necessary quality and align with project goals.
• Ensure all code is well‑documented, tested, and adheres to best practices and coding standards.
• Maintain high availability and performance of applications through proactive monitoring and incident response.
• Communicate effectively with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working with Java/J2EE, with .NET and Java 8 preferred; familiarity with Spring, Struts, Log4J, etc.
• 6+ years of experience designing, coding, and deploying REST and SOAP services, APIs, and web services tools such as POSTMAN.
• 6+ years of experience with PL/SQL and RDBMS; Microsoft SQL (2014+) preferred.
• 5+ years experience using Linux or Unix, including scripting, and encryption tools such as PGP.
• 3+ years experience working with modern continuous deployment pipelines – TFS, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, etc.
• Experience or knowledge of front‑end frameworks such as JS, React, or Angular is a strong plus.
• Experience with automated testing and code review tools is a strong plus.
• Strong configuration skills and comfort working with complex data pipelines.
• Familiarity with major transport protocols: FTP, SFTP, and other SSH connectivity tools.
• Ability to see the technical overview of a system and conduct impact analysis of changes.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
