ScotiaTech, Scotiabank's technology hub in Bogotá, seeks a Senior Salesforce ETL Developer 1 to design and implement data workflows, integration, and scalable pipelines across multiple systems.

You will work with business partners and GBME teams to deliver data-driven solutions, enhance analytics capabilities, and support production deployments using modern DevOps practices.

Formación

• 5+ years’ industry experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale data engineering applications.
• 5+ years’ experience designing high-volume analytics data structures.
• Experience with Salesforce data engineering platform.
• Proficiency in Python or Java and other modern languages.

Responsabilidades

• Understand business needs and implement data workflows and integration with Salesforce and other systems.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with architecture for design and integration across platforms.

The Team

Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking and Capital Markets businesses.

The Role

GBME is searching for Software Engineers who are continuous learners and are eager to boost capabilities of capital markets products and analytics platforms.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical and engineering mindset. You will work closely with business teams and cross functional engineering leaders to develop and implement market leading solutions for the various projects within GBME.

In partnership with peer engineers, business partners, and the various GBME teams, you will:

• Work closely with Business Analysts and Technical Analysts team to understand business needs and solution and implement Data workflows and integration
• Partner with Architecture on the design and integration
• Participate in data engineering and transformation design to ensure highly scalable, extensible, and performant solutions.
• Contribute to existing data ingestion, transformation and extraction solutions in Salesforce Platform
• Build/Maintain scalable data pipelines for both real time and batch using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes utilising various technologies.
• Create impact analysis document, User stories, Design workflows for implementation
• Deliver and enhance new and current solutions and multi-system integration
• Be involved in the full life cycle of a project, responsible for producing actionable and complete specifications, writing production quality code, and implementation
• Understand existing database schema, identify gaps and recommend solutions
• Design test sets and automate where possible (if needed)
• Write deployment scripts and leverage tools such as the Accelerator pipeline to promote code
• Support the solution in production (as and when required)
• Improve the end user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad hoc queries.
• Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Able to work with and refactor legacy implementations
• Coach and train end users (as needed).
• Participate and run SCRUM Meetings (as needed).
• You are passionate about developing applications that are reusable, efficient, and scalable, working in an innovated cross functional team environment.

Technical Qualifications

• 5+ years’ of industry experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale applications with complex integration as Data Engineer.
• 5+ years’ of industry experience Design, implement and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics
• Experience Data engineering in Salesforce platform
• Experience with 2 or more modern development languages in academic or recent work projects (Python, Java, etc.)
• Excellent understanding of database and data management concepts and technologies
• 4+ years of Experience on working with Talend or similar ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools
• Working experience with GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, DevOps, Jenkins pipelines, and code promotion
• Experience with UNIX Shell scripting in Sun Solaris/Linux environments
• Experience working in an Agile environment, with experience and understanding of Test-Driven Development methodology.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant experience.
