Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Colombia is seeking a Product Engineer (AI-Native) to own features end-to-end, from problem identification to production.

You will work at the forefront of AI-native software, using AI agents as primary development partners rather than writing code manually. You will collaborate with external providers, define integration requirements, and turn ambiguous problems into production-ready features, while reviewing AI-generated implementations for reliability and quality.

Qualifications

• Senior-level engineering experience owning complex production systems end-to-end.
• Background as a backend engineer, software architect, or similarly experienced IC.
• Extensive hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable tools as a primary part of daily development workflow.
• Strong interest in agentic software development with a habit of continuously learning about new tools and workflows.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently determine what needs to be done and drive work to measurable results.
• Strong critical-thinking to inspect, challenge, debug, and improve AI-generated code and solutions.
• High standards for engineering quality, reliability, testing, and production readiness.
• Experience with complex integrations and external service providers.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and making decisions without detailed specs.
• Strong product mindset connecting technical decisions to user and business outcomes.
• Hands-on IC; no people management.
• Strong English communication within a distributed international team.

Responsibilities

• Own product features end-to-end, from problem statement through deployment and production.
• Identify what needs to be built and drive initiatives without detailed specs.
• Engage with external partners and service providers to review documentation and set integration requirements.
• Collaborate with AI agents to create product and technical specifications with full ownership.
• Delegate tasks to AI agents and review their outputs in a large production codebase.
• Evaluate AI-generated implementations, identifying errors and refining solutions.
• Test and validate features with emphasis on reliability and correctness of financial systems.
• Take responsibility for architecture, integrations, deployment, reliability, and production readiness.
• Contribute to AI-first development processes and share insights within the team.
• Stay engaged with emerging agentic development practices.
