We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Account Supervisor with a strong background in Carrier Sales and team leadership to oversee daily transportation operations and support carrier capacity, shipment coverage, and account performance.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Carrier Sales, combined with leadership experience in a logistics or transportation environment. This role requires strong negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage carrier relationships, support the team, handle urgent shipments, and ensure accurate updates across transportation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Carrier Sales and transportation operations, ensuring shipments are properly covered and monitored.
- Lead, support, and coordinate the Carrier Sales team to ensure daily priorities and operational requirements are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and transportation partners.
- Source and communicate with carriers to secure capacity for assigned shipments.
- Negotiate rates and transportation requirements with carriers while supporting company margins and operational needs.
- Monitor shipment coverage, carrier acceptance, and potential capacity issues.
- Track and follow up on hot, urgent, and time-sensitive shipments.
- Perform and oversee Track & Trace activities to ensure accurate shipment visibility.
- Coordinate with carriers and drivers regarding pickup, delivery appointments, delays, and operational exceptions.
- Review and validate shipment information, carrier details, and TMS updates.
- Ensure accurate order entry and system updates, including pickup/delivery details, appointments, equipment, weight, pieces, contacts, and references.
- Monitor the team inbox and prioritize urgent and same-day requests.
- Identify operational issues and ensure appropriate escalation and follow-up.
- Generate and review customer reports and shipment visibility updates.
- Collaborate with Account Management, Operations, Accounting, and other internal teams.
- Support training, coaching, and performance development of Carrier Sales team members.
- Help ensure proper processes, communication standards, and workflows are followed across the team.
- Coordinate with other shifts to maintain continuous operational coverage.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Carrier Sales is required.
- Previous leadership or team lead experience is required.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or carrier management.
- Strong experience building and maintaining carrier relationships.
- Experience with carrier sourcing, capacity management, and rate negotiation.
- Strong understanding of transportation operations and shipment lifecycle.
- Experience with Track & Trace and TMS systems.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal (B2–C1 required).
- Spanish/English bilingual communication skills are preferred.
