Job summary

AECOM in Santiago, Chile seeks an experienced Mining Geotechnical Lead to oversee field investigations, construction observation, sampling, reporting, and the review of geotechnical data for mining and heavy earthworks projects, including tailings, stockpiles, leaching operations and foundations.

You will develop soil and rock properties, evaluate stability of tailings dams and slopes, prepare technical proposals, coordinate with civil design teams, and mentor junior engineers while applying

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering.
• 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• English and Spanish proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical field investigations, construction observation and data review.
• Develop soil/rock properties and evaluate tailings dam and slope stability.
• Prepare proposals/reports for tailings, stockpiles, leaching and storm water facilities.
