Athenaworks is seeking a Senior AI / Backend Product Engineer to join our team and help build and scale a conversational AI platform for business workflows that matter. You will work on AI systems that understand context, retrieve information from internal services, and support real-time product experiences, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers.

Formación

• 8+ years in software engineering with backend focus and recent AI/agent work.
• Strong Python skills, async/await, FastAPI, Pydantic, typing, and pytest.
• Experience building production LLM apps and agents with ownership.
• Familiarity with LangChain and LangGraph architectures.
• Experience with retrieval systems (BM25, embeddings) and vector stores.
• Knowledge of MCP patterns, tool contracts, and reliable service contracts.
• Experience in AWS environments (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS).

Responsabilidades

• Design AI agent architectures for engagement and automation use cases.
• Build backend services and real-time streaming between AI systems and product interfaces.
• Develop pipelines for agent reasoning, memory, planning, and tool use.
• Implement reliability patterns for production AI including timeouts and backoff.
• Evaluate models and agents to improve performance and alignment.
• Implement guardrails for permissions, inputs, and tool usage.
• Standardize observability with structured traces and logging.
