Advantage - Active Jobs is seeking a Project Engineer - Solar PV to lead performance and optimization activities for Solar PV assets across the Americas. The role combines field engineering, performance analysis, and investigations to maximize energy production and reliability.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical/Electronic/Energy Engineering, hands-on field experience with solar assets, and strong analytical skills.

• Deliver technical services for Solar PV and hybrid assets including BESS.
• Collaborate with asset managers, performance managers, and operations teams.

Our client is a leading international energy innovation and engineering organization dedicated to improving the performance, reliability, and sustainability of renewable energy assets. Through applied research, technical expertise, and consulting services, the company supports the transition toward a carbon-neutral future across multiple markets and technologies.

The Project Engineer - Solar PV will lead and support technical activities related to the performance, reliability, and optimization of Solar PV assets across the Americas. The role combines field engineering, performance analysis, technical investigations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to maximize the value and efficiency of renewable energy projects.

Some responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead and execute Solar PV performance measurement campaigns, technical inspections, and field assessments to evaluate plant performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Perform detailed performance analyses of operating Solar PV assets and provide clear, data-driven recommendations to improve energy production and reliability.
• Lead and support Root Cause Analysis investigations related to inverter failures, tracker issues, plant control systems, and other technical performance events.
• Deliver technical services for Solar PV and hybrid assets, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), across the Americas region.
• Collaborate closely with internal experts, asset managers, performance managers, and operations teams to support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Our client describes its ideal candidate as:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience working with utility-scale Solar PV plants.
• Strong expertise in performance analysis of operating Solar PV assets.
• Solid understanding of Solar PV plant operation, including electrical systems, inverters, trackers, and plant control systems.
• Hands-on field experience with Solar PV assets.
• Experience leading or supporting technical investigations and Root Cause Analysis activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Native or C2-level Spanish proficiency.
• Professional English proficiency, minimum B2 level.
• Experience with hybrid Solar PV and BESS projects is highly desirable.
